HAVE A PLAN IN THE EVENT OF SYSTEM FAILURE

We do not charge for quoting a replacement system (in a couple of different ways) for your Nortel, its good to have a plan in place. We can also pre-survey your system so we know the names of extensions and other settings, thus speeding up the process if we ever get the call from you that your phones have gone dark.

Nortel Service and Support

IP OFFICE TECHS HAS BEEN PROVIDING NORTEL SUPPORT FOR OVER 10 YEARS
Our techs have been working with Nortel Phone Systems and their specialized issues for over 10 years. We have a Nortel test lab and equipment onsite to help us troubleshoot any issues you may have.  We still stock phones and and most parts if you choose to repair or expand your phone system.  We do not offer any warranty or free support as Nortel has been out of business for about 8 years and new parts are no longer available.  If you wish to troubleshoot and service your own system we offer service manuals under the Downloads tab above.  There are also many training videos on YouTube.  


DO YOU NEED EMERGENCY SERVICE?
Are your phone displays blinking, is there nothing in the display, or is it not working as it used to following a power failure or storm?  Follow this link for emergency service...  CLICK HERE


IF YOU CANNOT MAKE OR RECEIVE OUTSIDE PHONE CALLS...
But your phone's display is normal and you CAN make internal extension to extension calls.  Then the problem is likely with your phone line provider.  Call them and request an onsite service person to check this out.  This is always the first step.  If they say it's your phone system without sending someone out, they are simply in denial and not testing the problem at the source as the issue can be with the outside phone wiring and not at their central office. The phone company typically does a quick remote test and then tells you to call your phone system company.  This happens 95% of the time. 

After the phone companies onsite tech says it is a phone system issue, then we can proceed to the next steps. Please note we will ask whether the problem is with one line or all the lines and if the problem is steady or random.  Try to make phone calls inbound and outbound on all your lines. That will help us troubleshoot.

  3. Provide us with your credit card info.  We will need a fee of $75 for determining where the problem exists (up to 30 minutes tech time)
  4. We will verify your credit card info then call you back
  5. We guide you through the steps needed in order to determine where the problem exists in your Nortel system
  6. We will present you with options for repair or replacement
  7. We will send you an invoice marked paid upon completing the sonsultation work


ARE YOU LOCKED OUT OF PROGRAMMING THE SYSTEM AND NEED A PASSWORD RESET?
For password resets we need to call you on your cell phone, and walk you through the multi step procedure to first get into the admin part of your system and then use that login to reset passwords as needed.  We charge $75 for this service. Please follow the below steps to register and request this service.

  3. Provide us with your credit card info.  We will need a fee of $75 that will be charged once the password(s) have been changed
  4. We will verify your credit card info then call you back
  5. We guide you through the steps needed in order to reset the password(s)
  6. We'll wait for you to test the new passwords before closing the ticket and charging your card
  7. We will send you an invoice marked paid upon completing the charge


DO YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE GREETING OR AUTO ATTENDANT MESSAGE OR ATTENDANT CHOICES?
For work done on the auto attendants or greetings we need to call you on your cell phone, walk you through the multi step procedure to first get into the admin part of your system and then perform research to find out where the messages or attendant actions exist in the system.  Once we verify their program locations we can make the changes you require. The minimum charge for work of this type is $150 for up to one hour and then billed in 1/4 hour increments.  It seldom goes over an hour.  Please follow the below steps to register and reqest this service.

  5. We guide you through the steps needed in order to make the changes
  6. You have up to one day to test the changes and calling back with any adjustments to finish up one hour of support or add to the original one hour time if needed. 
  7. We will send you an invoice marked paid upon completing the charge


NORTEL has not been in business since 2005 or so, and no new replacement parts are being made.  A need was apparent for a company that can still service, program, and support these long lasting systems and provide available parts when needed.  

To fill this need, IP Office Techs has been helping customers and techs with their Nortel Phone Systems since 2005. We can provide onsite service in most of Wisconsin.   If you have another phone tech or maintenance person, we can also work with this person if them are not famialiar with Nortel as long as they have a general knowledge of wired phone systems.

If you are locked out of your voicemail, we can help with that too, however an administrator or office manager from your business will need to call, we also require a small amount payable with credit card to reset the password as this involves multiple steps. 

If you are concerned about parts, many are still available. Some licenses and replacement options are no longer stocked, but most phone models still are.  There are often alternative models of reconditioned Nortel main control units (PBXs) that can by substituted for certain situations and configurations. Call us for details on replacement parts.
